Spanish authorities said that Syahrul Mian is one of several sailors who remain missing after the "Rosamar" capsized. Mian's family raised the alarm over his missing status, when they failed to get word from him. Mian is one of four Indonesian sailors on board the "Rosamar" when it capsized.

Doctors said x ray tests showed that at least three of the patients have bronco-pneumonia, one of the first signs of the bird flu. But they won't confirm if the patients are bird flu positive pending lab results. Health authorities in Semarang, Central Java slaughtered dozens of poultry in a sweep after a 15 year old girl died of the bird flu. Indonesia has the world's highest bird flu death toll with over 100 deaths.

Prosecutors confiscated a number of documents and up to 2.4 billion rupiah or over 200 thousand dollars in cash. They also confiscated nearly billion rupiah or over 1.6 million dollars from the department's cooperative. The raids occurred a week after the prosecutors questioned former Justice and Human Rights Ministers Yusril Ihza Mahendra and Hamid Awaluddin for misusing 34 million dollars of funds allocated for the computerization of the department's files. The cooperatives and public legal divisions of the department allegedly appropriated the funds for their own use.

Sultan Hotel General Manager Jean Wasser said the growing lack of imported food and beverages are due to rising customs and tax rates, as well as other factors. But he and other movers in food and beverage industry assured customers that the goods are already in Tanjung Priok port under the care of customs. He said that the shortage are not politically motivated or prompted by Sharia inspired ordnances.

ustoms officials said the contraband included over ten billion rupiah or one million dollars' worth of electronic, textiles and liquors. The culprits concealed their goods with documents intended for government institutions. But the authorities found them out when they found the list to be fictitious. The main smuggling suspect now face up to ten years behind bars and a fifty million rupiah fine. Elsewhere, police in Cilegon, Banten Province confiscated over 13 thousand ecstasy pills in a cargo truck left by its owners. They also took away 6.5 kilograms of ketamin, a substance used to make crystal meth. The police believe that the find is connected to a recent drug arrest in West Jakarta.
